For the 14th time in a row, the Association of the Black Forest Clock (VdS), based in Schonach, is holding its annual election for the “Cuckoo Clock of the Year”.
This year’s venue is the Hiking Information Center in Baiersbronn.
On 06/05/2015, this clock selection started with a vernissage, which was opened by the mayor of the town of Baiersbronn, Michael Ruf. Afterwards the Baiersbronn tourism director Patrick Schreib, as well as the executive committee of the VdS, Ingolf Haas, welcomed the present guests.
It is hoped that around 35,000 guests will visit this hiking information center located in the Baiersbronn train station each year. This year, these guests now have the opportunity to select one of the cuckoo clocks up for election by voting for “Cuckoo Clock of the Year 2015”.
13 very different cuckoo clocks, from modern to classic traditional, are available for visitors to choose from.
The clocks were manufactured by the companies Helmut Kammerer, Rombach & Haas, Anton Schneider, all with headquarters in Schonach, the company Hönes from Titisee-Neustadt, August Schwer from Schönwald, Hubert Herr from Triberg and Engstler from VS-Villingen.
These 13 clocks are now hanging in the Baiersbronn Hiking Information Center until 20/10/2015. After the votes are counted, the winning clock for 2015 will then be chosen.
